Students practice in class using a pattern designed to take students through shapes ranging from the most common, to the most difficult.
You will walk away with written materials recapping the information covered in the class along with an additional copy of the practice template for more practice at home.
All tools, materials, and supplies needed for the project are provided but…bring. your. glasses, seriously. Bring your readers or prescription glasses, you will be glad you did.
In addition to learning how to create a template students will cover all aspects of glass cutting including the purpose of, and how to use the various hand tools. The fundamentals of glass cutting, cutting order of operations, the various methods of removal along with tips, tricks, best practices, and so much more.
Students will put their knowledge to practice cutter-in-hand using a pattern designed to force encounters with shapes ranging from the most common to the most difficult.
Students will practice with clear glass initially and later try pieces in color and texture to understand the increased difficulty with different types of glass.
Students walk away with a 10-page guide covering class materials as well as an extra practice template to continue their practice at home. Additional practice will be required to master glass cutting!
